Green Muslim Cards

For Muslims, "going green" isn't just the latest fad, it's a way of life.

We must relish our earthly resources and not make waste. We need to treat what God has given us as the gift it truly is.

It is He Who produced gardens with and without trellises; and date-palms and crops with produce of all kinds; and olives and pomegranates of similar and different variety: eat of their fruit in their season but render the dues (charity) that are proper on the day that the harvest is gathered. And waste not by excess: for God does not love the wasteful. -Quran 6:141

In light of this, Green Muslim Cards always uses 100% recycled materials (cards, envelopes, and mailing envelopes), which we hope you will recycle again. If 100% recycled is unavailable, we look for the next best option with the highest percentage recycled content and post-consumer waste.

Many card orders are sent out in a regular recycled manila envelopes. But you may wonder why your cards arrived in an old shoe box or mailer envelope. I collect these from family, friends and businesses so that they can be reused instead of thrown away. So if your order fits in one, that's what I use! Why don't you save it and send it out for a third time?

Green Muslim Cards does not use fancy packaging, plastic wrappers or anything unnecessary to bundle the cards. Not only is it wasteful, the cost would be passed on to the consumer, who in the end usually throws these things away.

There is none amongst the believers who plants a tree, or sows a seed, and then a bird, or a person, or an animal eats from it, except that it is regarded as having given a charitable gift (for which he can expect God’s Pleasure and Reward). -Prophet Mohammed (Peace be upon him)

The earth will benefit from Green Muslim Cards being eco-friendly, but also from you doing your part. A good place to start is by recycling any greeting cards you would otherwise throw away! Let's all gain the reward for being stewards of the earth!
